Scan of tintype

Chloe is an artist/ camera woman whose practice explores the sublime and the ridiculousness of modern femininity.

With the narratives of women and water at its core, she explores cultural perceptions od beauty, identity, fertility and desire, recreating scenes from myths and memories through tintype photography. She embraces the unpredictable alchemy, tangibility and slowness of this medium whilst playing with scale and surface texture to create pieces that are a shapeshifting celebration of womanhood.

Lena Steinabuer ~
Sleepover

Large Format Photography, 4x5 Slide Film, series of 9

2023

Lena Steinbauer is an Austrian Artist and Photographer. Her approach often consists of blending the boundaries of documentary and staged photography with a commitment to collaboration.

Sleepover is "an exploration of the spaces where I found freedom as a girl growing up in the early 2000s. For many kids, staying over at a friend’s place provided a break from the rules set by parents, and offered a glimpse into the homes and dynamics of other families. This series celebrates these spaces, where solidarity between girls offered a sense of intimacy and protection. The series aims to create a dialogue that resonates between the realms of girlhood and adulthood, evoking a sense of nostalgia for a time that is both distant and familiar."

CROTCHET

Part of a series, Bristol, 2024

Jennifer Jean started shooting analogue about two years ago and loves how film secures not only the image, but the distinct taste and feel of the scene.

CROCHET  "was taken during a test shoot for my first photography project, centred around capturing form in the intimate setting of bed. Here, the subject is a Bristol based illustrator who was keen to get hold of reference photos for her life drawing work. The series, predominantly in black and white, is ongoing and seeks to capture as many different forms as possible."
